Being the President of an Outdoors Adventure Group I believe I should try and be in shape. Hence, I go to the gym and go for walks several times a week. When I'm on that endorphin high and I'm actually feeling good about myself and my life I often find myself in mental conversation with the big guy/gal in the sky. What I inevitably find myself thinking/saying is that "I'm sorry for not fulfilling my Life Contract." Having lived in the legal world and real estate world of contracts and life estates I hybridized the two and decided that I'm walking around with a "Life Contract" in my hands that I'm suppose to be fulfilling before I die. As I think upon all the wonderful things that have happened and, that I have hopefully done, I still say to myself,.."When the day comes and I meet my maker..will I be able to say in return Consideration for Life.. have I done everything possible to improve myself and the lives of those arround me?",... whether it be a smile to a complete stranger or actual no strings attached active involvement in the world. Unfortunately, I usually come up with the negative. Please don't think I'm being condescending by saying "improving the lives of those around me.." I can't improve anything. It's all an illusion anyhow...but I can try to make people laugh or actually feed/help those in need. I can actually improve/enrich myself and learn another language, learn to read music, go up to a foreignor and say "welcome to my country", hand a homeless guy a Big Mac, be involved in a Charity, etc. etc...or even be a Trailblazer. I hope to fulfill my Contract and not get sued for "failure to perform" in the big court in the sky....I imagine God would be a formidable Plaintiff....and I, a mousey Defendant..."I meant to...I'm sorry..Can I have another chance..My dog ate my contract.." Have you fulfilled your Life Contract? I know each and everyone of you are trying...because you're Trailblazers. God bless y'all....with all due respect to the agnostics and atheists. Tonight I have about 25 folks coming to Amicis in Suntree for dinner. I'm looking forward to seeing you. This weekend Dorn and I went to the David Carr Turtle Sanctuary on A1A just North of the Sebastian Inlet. They are having quite a few activities this summer to increase Ocean Awareness and to help protect the Sea Turtles and their habitat. Did you know that the Barrier Island is one of a couple locations in the entire world where Turtles can actually live, procreate, and do whatever they have been doing for millions of years? Saturday 7/30 at 6pm there will be a cocktail party, etc..to "Kick Off " the following day's Live Sea Turtle Release. It's $15 in advance and a lot more at the door. Check your updates for the website link....tourdeturtles.org. I'll be there with Dorn....DO NOT call me for tickets...get on line and pay yourself and I'll see you there....as part of fulfillment of our Life Contracts. |
